The Great Canadian Song Quest – Once again we find ourselves trying to re invent the wheel and are asking people to right songs about places and cities in Canada. I like the Idea of this but this doesn’t just happen. New York New York didn’t just happen. It had a substantial amount of history that contributed to the thought that inspired the song.

So what is the real story here? Is it that there is no place in Canada that is as interesting as a densely populated city in the US or as charming as San Francisco? I don’t think so, so why are we trying so hard to get these songs made.

How The Great Canadian Song Quest Goes

1-      Find a spot in Canada that worth writing about

2-      Get Pictures and Video showing the location and why it would make for a good song

3-      Go to cbc.ca/radio2 to upload pictures and videos

4-      Start a blog to campaign on why this place is the best choice to write a song about

5-      Then, choose the Province on the siteof your Place in Canada to get your spot nominated

6-      Then every submission gets tallied and added to a short list

7-      Then its time to vote for your favorite Place in Canada to write a song about.

8-      The song will be written by a secret, mysterious awesome Canadian band
